Personal Radiation Detector for Nuclear Search
Following the release of the original Radiation Pager a need evolved for a variant focused on the requirements of specialized operators. The Radiation Pager-S was developed as a Personal Radiation Device optimized for nuclear search and the localization of a gamma radiation source. By incorporating features from premium STE products such as a delta-rate search algorithm and a threshold update function, the instrument’s capability was significantly enhanced. Now, this classic device has been re-engineered to create the smallest, lightest, fully ruggedized ANSI N42.32 compliant nuclear search PRD on the market today.
The Radiation Pager-S employs a large cesium iodide crystal scintillator and a quality photomultiplier tube for gamma radiation sensing. This detector, coupled with electronics that have been tuned for performance and optimized for low power, yields a very sensitive device, with fast response time, that any operator use reliably.
When the Radiation Pager detects radiation at levels above the natural background, it quickly alerts the operator by flashing a daylight-viewable indicator and by either sounding an alarm or vibrating. The operator can easily locate the radiation source using the duty-cycle based audio or vibration alerts, the single digit display, and the threshold update function.
Small – Light – Rugged
Borrowing significant design features from our premium radiation search products, the Radiation Pager-S has been carefully engineered to yield the smallest and lightest unit available. It has been designed and tested to be resilient in response to vibration and drops onto concrete. And it’s waterproof: robust O-ring seals have been employed to enable a submersible PRD that doesn’t have to come in out of the rain, and which can be decontaminated without compromising standard practices.
Premium Tactical Holster
The Radiation Pager-S includes a molded tactical holster with a selection of belt attachment hardware (Tek Loc and standard belt clips, Molle clips). Alternatively, a nylon pouch holster may be specified.
Designed from the ground up for connectivity, the Radiation Pager-S employs the latest Bluetooth standards for encryption and communication. This capability allows real-time streaming of radiological data to mobile device applications and to centralized command and control networks.

With a user’s interface including everything you need, and nothing you don’t, the Radiation Pager-S is easy to use and fast to train. Any operator can be made proficient in the use of the instrument in a manner of minutes.
